Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show on BBC 6Music

Tune in on Saturdays, 6pm-9pm

Craig Charles is a force of nature as a presenter. He’s larger than life, knowledgeable and above all passionate about Funk & Soul.

The Craig Charles Funk & Soul show is one of the longest serving programmes on BBC Radio 6 Music. Every Saturday night Craig celebrates iconic artists from the golden age of black American music, champions up and coming UK acts and mixes in contemporary remixes.  The show aims to entertain but also to educate the listener whether they’re new to the genre or often found at northern soul nights.  Craig interviews the biggest names in the industry from Candi Staton, The Roots, Bootsy Collins, Maceo Parker and Sharron Jones.

Throughout 2012 Craig told the story of Black American Music, presented his Fantasy Funk Band from Maida Vale and counted down his list of the most important funk and soul tunes in ‘52 Weeks of Funk’.  Craig is seen as a leader on the scene DJing at nights all over the world and holds monthly residents at Band On The Wall in Manchester and Bloomsbury in London.  The programme continues to go from strength to strength as it celebrates it highest figures to date.
