The National Lottery’s Team GB and ParalympicsGB Homecoming

We delivered the Homecoming ceremonies for Team GB and ParalympicsGB for the 2020 Tokyo and 2024 Paris Games. The shows combined musical performances with emotional VTs and live moments to celebrate the Teams through world class televisual spectacles, created by over 500 cast and crew, and with 11,000 National Lottery players in the audience.

Team GB Homecoming in 2024  was presented by Emma Willis and Vernon Kay and featured performances from Miles Smith, Rag’n’Bone Man, Nina Nesbitt, James, Kelli-Leigh, Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne. All performances were supported by bespoke screen content, created by Shiny Dot Studio (TBI’s in house screen content division) to create immersive entertainment for the millions watching on TV.

The ParalympicsGB Homecomings have been some of the most accessible sports entertainment programmes ever produced. Hosted by stars of ‘The Last Leg’, Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker, they featured performances by Craig David, Aitch, Caity Baser, The Greatest Showman’s Keala and The Sugababes. The production reflected the pioneering diversity and accessibility that characterises the Games on both sides of the camera. The majority of the performances featured disabled artists, the dance team included the UK’s only professional disabled choreographer, and the show was signed by a team of BSL interpreters. Generations of disability activists had their story told through the UK’s first all-wheelchair dance company, made possible after the venue was adapted to support nearly 200 wheelchairs. A range of other accessibility requirements were accommodated including visual impairments, neurodiversity, and sensory considerations.  Behind the camera, a revolutionary new wheelchair-based camera system was used as a TV first.

Through these events we celebrated the significant support that The National Lottery provide to our British Athletes.
