Granny Anne’s Joke World was a 10-part series for CBeebies Radio that takes children into a magical world where jokes come to life!
When mum pops out to the shops, Granny Anne comes round to babysit her two grandchildren, Max and Maya, who always beg her to open up her magical joke book. Characters and animals fill the house, bringing fun and chaos that all has to be sorted by the time mum gets back.
The series starred the fantastic Maureen Lipman as Granny Anne, and the characters are brought to life by comic actor, Josie Lawrence, and the star of Horrible Histories and Yonderland, Jim Howick. The writer is Paul Kerensa, who blessed our joke world with his considerable comic skills, honed by writing for Miranda Hart and Lee Mack.
